Here to there by John Patrick Doyle (Volunteer)

Six and a half thousand miles away
Six and a half thousand miles away
From home

Hundreds and Hundreds of men and women
From all over Ireland's emerald isle
Together with friends from around the world
Descended down to Capetown, South Africa
To build what were not just houses
But homes

For hundreds of families who had lived in
Cold, squalid shacks all their lives!
These Irishmen & Irishwomen incited tears of joy
In those who had long awaited their first brick homes.
Blood, Sweat & Tears will go away
But the pride will never!

Thanks to the Niall Mellon Building Blitz
Six and a half thousand miles away
Six and a half thousand miles away
From Home!
